The remodel floorplan (see post below for original):
The green areas are mechanical closets (for Heating/AC and H2O heater)
Planned Changes:
1. We are knocking out the wall that separated the original mudroom from the original master closet.
2. That makes space to move the water heater to its new location and the Washer/Dryer from under the windows by the back door and into the newly enlargened area on the east wall of the mudroom.
3. We will have a door from the mud room into the master bedroom. Makes lots of sense for the licensed irrigator in the family - drop off the muddy shoes by the door, strip & start the washer! Clean clothes and houseshoes just a few steps away...what could be better?
4. The other change requiring wall-knocking-down activity is the master bath. I opted for a smaller bath area and we're creating a 6'x6' walk-in closet in the north end of the old master bath. The old bath was a very long, narrow room with no tub. Former owners had a shower on the north end, toilet on the south end and a two-sink vanity.
5. We are moving the two-sink vanity into the guest bath. (We gutted the guest bath)
6. The master bath will have a whirlpool tub, toilet, and a pedestal sink in the south half of the room & the closet in the north half - a new wall with pocket door will separate.
