Too long between posts - I know! My life has been on auto-play lately, just one ongoing loop...but tonight, I have carved out a few minutes to myself (after a 5 hour drive from Lubbock to Denton for meetings the rest of the week).
Here is a great picture (taken from inside the living room) of the peahen and her peachick! They are so interesting to watch - God's sense of humor incarnate! These two birds and one male are the only fowl still living. The story of Rufus and 2 other peafowl (one male & one female) is too sad for the written word - ask me in person some time!
Check this out! This new doggy door works with a magnet that Katie will wear on her collar. When she approaches, the mechanism will allow her to enter the house (but unless I issue a magnet to the peachick or one of the cats, no other animals will come in - at least not through this door). And yes, that IS a Whataburger cup in the hole left where the dryer vent was! Gotta love American ingenuity!

We decided to lay laminate in the two bedrooms that did not already have hardwood floors (above is the master, Bedroom #3 also has this beautiful laminate). Making real progress is a good thing!

Bryan is sanding the floor around the kitchen cabinets - that which does not kill us makes us stronger! Please note the absence of the gaping hole through which I so gracefully fell!!
Huge sanding job! Nasty black stuff stinks really bad - Mike & Bryan almost died during this part of the process.
This hole is in my master closet - before the remodel, it was part of the master bath and contained the drain from the shower. This is a close-up of a baby tree - isn't it amazing how nature longs for light!
